MEXICO IMPOSES ENTRY BAN ON U.S. REFUGEES
God’s creation
As the influx of American refugees fleeing worsening poverty continues to rise, the Mexican Congress has introduced a bill to prohibit the entry of individuals deemed “mentally deficient.” While the bill does not explicitly name U.S. citizens, given current migration patterns, its intended target is hard to miss.
The proposed legislation reflects widespread frustration among Mexicans, fueled primarily by fears of increased competition in the job market. Many worry that the flood of unskilled, low-wage workers will put downward pressure on wages in the country’s most vulnerable economic sectors.
Cultural tensions have also flared, with opposition leaders stoking resentment toward northern migrants. “They’re fat, loud, and selfish—exactly what we don’t need here,” Miguel Mendoza, a leading opposition figure, has repeatedly proclaimed in recent months. Now, he seems to have secured enough support in Congress to push the bill forward.
Unsurprisingly, the American refugee community is outraged. The organization American Refugees United (ARU)—better known by its online alias AR-15s—issued a statement on X this morning: “Um… I mean, wtf bro?!”
The bill has not yet passed, but tensions between interest groups continue to escalate. A final vote is expected no sooner than next Wednesday.
